You do get that information when you are at the spot. It is written on
the timetable.

If you are able to see, yes. But disabled (that is everyone who has to use public transport because he/she is not able to drive a car) not. And on the time-table you wont find a hint *where* the right platform is. A public transport router with audio output would do, if it has the data. We could work towards this aim.
