Could you please explain what you mean, because I'm not sure. The
links provided show bus routes with nothing difficult in particular.
They could be mapped as one relation each, only if bus stops are
tagged correctly.
I just want to be sure we can draw in OSM the exact same map as I gave
as examples.
That is possible with openbusmap.org (öpnvkarte.de), although there are
reports of some minor problems.
These examples show distincts ways taken by buses,
depending on the direction. If it can be done for these simple lines
just with a single relation and stops tagged correctly, it's fine for me.
No, this can't be done in such detail, but it's not necessary as of
2011. All you need to know is where is the bus stop for the direction
you're interested in, or whether the bus stop you found serves you
correctly. All the rest is done by the routing software.
Note that most modern public transport companies no longer publish bus
routes as maps, because 1) they force you to use the routing software,
2) bus lines often vary throughout the day or week -> nowadays it's
impossible to draw bus lines correctly. How do you put the message on
OSM that "bus passes here on Sunday morning"?
The examples you provided are really indeed very, very simple lines.
Such cases are more and more rare nowadays.
However, I still have doubts concerning this line, which is the most
complex in my city:
http://tisseo.fr/sites/default/files/Tisseo_hiv16web.pdf
Still quite simple: here are the tags
from: Cite de l'Hers [- College de l'Hers]
to: Sept Deniers / Stade...
then use roles in Alle de Brienne, around Port St. Etienne and Route de
Bignac.
*BUT* this is the old way. I'd propose that you tag the entire line as
one relation (except for the night part) without any roles, and then
only put the roles on the bus stops. It is immaterial for users which
was the bus goes, but where it heads and where it stops.
If you want really good platform for future routing software, have bus
stops tagged with *unique* stop_id tags.
I don't see how we can map this without at least 2 relations, where the
line splits up in the two directions "Sept Deniers" and "Stade E.
Wallon".
For a very simple reason, no you don't The reason is that if you really
want to be exact, you'd need separate relations for the first and last
runs as well, as they don't cover the entire route - the bus normally
doesn't start at terminus (your specific example may be different), and
then yet another relation for the Saturday (Samedi) runs, because the
bus doesn't call at each bus stop.
THIS IS REALLY HOW IT IS DONE IN ROUTING SOFTWARE! Are you ready to
enter and maintain such a number of relations?
I will elaborate on details in another thread.
And about the night extension to the SNCF railway station, I
think we'd need a distinct relation as this line is called "16S" instead
of "16".
Exactly.

LMB
