?Good morning
I've just caught onto this conversation now, but I'd be happy to join in.
I'm not great at presentations, but can add to a discussion where it makes
sense, or present something if needed. If you two would like me to join, let
me know how you would like me to contribute.
Regards,
Brendan Barrett

Subject: Re: [OSM-Talk-ZA] Speaker needed for OSM talk
I could do it, depending on which Friday it is and have enough warning
to prepare a proper presentation. 15 October 2010 or thereafter is
fine. There are others who are better suited to give the talk who might
be willing. What about Adrian Frith, Trevor Hughes, Trevor Bartleet or
Brendan Barrett? Alternatively have two of us do it?

Hi All
I've just completed adding as many of the tracks and trails in the
Table Mountain National Park that I could get reliable GPS traces for
over the past few months. Some of the traces were donated by Mountail
Meanders from gpx files that they had collected over the years.
I have sent them (as promised) a link to the OSM map and a couple of
Garmin img files and a Mapsource installer I generated so that they
can take a look at the work done so far and give me feedback. Almost
immediately after they received the files, they sent me an e-mail
asking the following: ".Would you be willing/interested to give a talk
to the GPS User Group sometime? Could be on a Friday evening at the
Mountain Club as they are always looking for speakers and it is a
topic of general interest."
As I've only been involved in the OSM project for 4 months or so, I
don't feel suitably qualified to give such a talk. Is their anyone in
Cape Town with a deeper knowledge of the project that would be willing
to give such a talk? I'd be happy to assist and chip in with
information related to the TMNP trail map specifically.
