  I've done that, just not in SA. They would usually have no problems
of providing data, but you have to check the accuracy. The data I've
got in Europe was sometimes up to 150m incorrect, which could
sometimes take you to the other side of the road. If it is too far
away other mappers can create a correct node without finding an
incorrect one (thus you would end up with two petrol stations).

  Then you would have to think of a way capturing/entering those pois.
You would have to check if petrol station is already on the map (maybe
on a slightly different spot) or not. Entering/checking manually would
mean A LOT of work, doing it automatically is not trivial...
