hey! thes instrucktions will help you get started with dcplusplus.
furst you download the program from dcplusplus.com furst off if you have a
version older then 2.61 there is an option that you don't need to unchekc
but we will come to that later.
ok instal the program this is a standerd instaler nothin to worry about when
you furst load up the program for the furst time there will be a settings
dialog that popps up.
the furst box you will land in is the nick required box fill in your nick
name acordingly
tab to the next box this box should say email you don't need to fill this
out if ya don't want to...i didn't
next we have discription type in what you will be sharing and the
discription tab to the combo box ware is says connection airo up and down
threw this until you find the right connection speed of your internet
connection
the next thing is a radio button called active or passave if its set on
active people can download from you and you can download off of people if
you set this on pasave this means your to lazy and don't wana open a port
on your router
next box is ip don't touch it
next box is port emty for randum now if you have a router you want to open a
port and leave it open i think its 412 or 411 for most hubbs
tab to the tab control and pres right airo once you should hear downloads
tab to the box ware is says defalt download directory you can fill it out
mmanually or just tab then you should see a brouze button or somethin
simular to that press space bar on it and you should se a normal brouze
dialog after you find your directory tab to ok and press enter and that
directory will be ware your downloads are stored ok tab after the brouze
button to a box that says unfinished downloads directory leave this blank
if you want your downloads to be picked up ware they left off
there are a couple of boxes that you don't need to worry about such as
limiting how many downloads you can get at a time just press control tab to
get to the next tab control witch should be sharing if you pressed tab
control you should land in a list view called sharing press tab until ad
folders button comes in to view or just press alt a then alt all the folders
you wana share
after you have added all you want go to the box ware it says automaticly
open an extra slot if speed is below 0 leave this alone
tab to upload slots this uploads slots is how many people can download from
you at the same time i set this to 10 but you can set it to what ever you
want
control tab once again to aparence
tab until you hear list view and go down the the minimize to system tray
idom and hit your space bar on it if your using widow eyes it won't say
anything if your using jaws it well...i don't no what it will do just hit
space bar on it! ok control tab control twice to advanced options tab until
you see a list view hit the end key to go to then end of the list hit the
space bar on that option and press enter!
your done!
then hit control f to ad a hub to your favorites and to start connecting ok
after you hit control f use your jfw cursor or window eyes cursor and go
down to new and left click on it then enter the name of the hub you want to
call it in your favorites list ehn tab to address and type in a address the
name and address or hub i usually connect to is andrelouis.com so in the
addres field type in andrelouis.com and press enter then hit space bar on
this if you want it to connect when you start dcplusplus and then press
enter then you will get connected when you get connect you will se if a
message of the day and then tab around alittle bit until reching a list
fview thes are the users hit enter on a persons name to get sht they share
the window will look sorta like a window explore then find the files you
want and press enter on them to start downloading them then after you done
close that window with control f4 and if your done minimze it and it gos to
the little system tray to wait for you
NOTEs
some of the hubbs on the public hub list has a max share that means you have
to share so much to get in there andres hub has a max share of 1 gig so i
bet most people have more then enough of that stuff to get in
and if you want to search press control s and fill out the fields and press
enter use your we cursor to go to ware it says user file size bla bla bla
and left click on it then hit enter on the files like normal if they don't
start downloading right click them and hit download
