I don't mind. It was actually a correct statement. I did think of that
already.

However, between thinking about it and actually writing the code to
handle it

F("ITEMDONE") = 0

in the setup step, my setup step got a makeover and the initialization
was lost. The first response actually made me go back and revisit it, so
the post was productive IMHO.

I do agree that some kind of "on behalf of" or the name they signed up
to the listserv with should be present in the emails.

Subject: [talkbws] RE: Run-time error '13': Type Mismatch

To Thom or the moderator of the BWS list:

Please review the first email in the string below.

Unfortunately, this happens often where there are certain people that
are extremely counterproductive on the mailing list...

Since our group list doesn't automatically show 'who' is sending the
emails, it is apparent that individuals feel they can dog an email or
make it appear that the previous thought wasn't of value. I personally
think that these kind of emails defeat the purpose of our list. -
Everyone has great input and while I don't often send questions, I learn
a lot when the email string go back and forth with ideas.

Is there any way to modify our list to automatically show a "from" user
or add the name or something so that when emails such as the one below
come through we will know who actually sent them (and then we can create
our rules in outlook to simply delete those emails from the counter
productive users).

Sorry to vent... but I don't like it when ideas are squashed... it
suppresses creative juices...

Any assistance you can provide would be appreciated.

He would have thought of that already...

If it is declared as a string it will give you that error. You could
either change the type to integer. Or try putting a Val(F("ITEMDONE"))
+ 1. This is not the most correct way to work around it, but would be a
quick test to see if it works.

Can anyone tell me why this:

F("ITEMDONE") = F("ITEMDONE") + 1

Would give me this:
