1. What's wrong with the SendMail function? 2. Isn't that the same error you get when you try to connect to meditech without specifying a stream name and meditech is already open?

Now what I have seen with accessing Outlook to programmatically to send emails is that at a point Microsoft put in a popup window to denote this was happening -basically blocking the programmatic send. Something in Office 2007 seemed to allow turning this warning off ( well put it this way, somehow I'm able to send emails in this manner with 2007 but wasn't with 2003 - but could be we switched our exchange server or something). I've attempted to move it to rules in the past but it was not reliable. I think now that I've got a little better understanding of VB and Rules I might try to convert it to Rules again and see how things go. I'm using this code (and ClickYes) to Email Via Outlook. Dim myOutlook As Object Dim myMailItem As Object ' Make instance Set myOutlook = CreateObject("Outlook.Application") ' Make mail item Set myMailItem = myOutlook.CreateItem(0) ' Set recipient (internal mail) myMailItem.Recipients.Add "Bennett, Brian" ' Set subject myMailItem.Subject = "The TASK+ report script has been completed." ' Set body myMailItem.Body = "All accounts scripted should be found in the attached TXT and DAT files. Thanks. Brian" myMailItem.Attachments.Add "C:\RDM\Log\ScriptedAccounts" & Dte & ".txt" myMailItem.Attachments.Add "C:\RDM\Reports\ScriptReport" & Dte1 & ".txt" myMailItem.Attachments.Add "C:\RDM\Reports\Script" & Dte1 & ".dat" ' And send it! myMailItem.Send ' Close instance Set myOutlook = Nothing When the original system first crashed I tried to set the script on a virtual pc. It worked just fine, but emailing myself the status was failing, so I moved it back to a stand alone. I know there is a better solution for email, but that requires the cooperation of IT. The other death of the script is at: Connect "Save As", stWindows Key "C:\RDM\Reports\script" & F("Rpt") & ".dat" Enter "" If I can find the original back up ( I'm terrible about not keeping a clean copy of my scripts when I start modifying.) I'll restore and try again. Thanks. With the current Meditech Magic connection, you can detect (and script) the download window without needed a windows connection. The SmartDialog command will let you "fill in" the window without even needed keystrokes. As for the email - how exactly are you doing that? Feel free to email me directly. Regards, Thom Thom C. From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, November 18, 2009 7:29 AM To: Talk Subject: [talkbws] Errors Anyway to change the error message of Err.Raise Err? Methode '~' of object '~' failed is just wee bit cryptic. I've got one script that has been auto-churning a long just fine for little over a year. Then they HDD crashed. Replaced pc, reloaded script and I'll be danged if I can get the job to run 3 times with out something timing out. Most times it's the connection to the download window, on occasion it's the email function that crashes. Stop, restart and it runs just fine for the next two times. Come back in the morning and the morning running has hung. As near as I can tell the pc setup is identical to the previous. The script is VB based, but I'm thinking I may want to give rules based another try with this one. Thanks.
