Greetings,

Unfortunately the character "^" means something - it means to press a
Ctrl prior to the next character in the line. (+,~,and %) are similar
(Shift, the enter key and Alt respectively)

I'd expect with your string below, you were getting some odd results,
since it was interpreting your data as "Business Office" Ctrl +C
"ommerc...

Yeah I know, that's not what you wanted it to do, and I am sorry - we
should be smarter than that seeing it's a big glob of text obviously you
are not sending Ctrl +C, or give you the option to say "hey when you
send this data, don't interpret that as a Ctrl, just send it as a ^".

But, here's what you can do today - if you double up the ^ it should
send the keystrokes you want successfully (I do not have access to your
screens to know for sure)

MyData = "Business Office^Commercial Lockbox^Check
Images^^^^^^E:\inserver6\lockbox_corresp_import\20100112_011790__0002_00
00016678_CM.tiff^"

MyData = Replace(MyData, "^", "^^")

Key MyData

I'd test this a few times to see if it feeds in exactly what you want -
meaning don't send that data w/ the Enter command just yet - count all
the ^. It's a lot of things to throw at the application at once and I'd
want to make sure it all gets in correctly.

Give support a ring if this doesn't help!

Regards,

Thom

The other option you could use is Chr$(94) which is the ascii code
for ^

I usually use code that sets up a string variable like d (for delimiter)
= "^".

Then I output my fields like this: Field2 & d & field2 & d & field3,
etc.

Probably goes without saying but I should be more clear...Apparently
because the ^ is used also for Ctrl functions that appears to be where
my issue lies...

Thanks,

Subject: [talkbws] Creating a text file...

Good afternoon everyone...

I'm working with notepad to create a text file that is going to drive a
process on another system...The issue I'm running into is that I need to
enter text in the following manner:

Business Office^Commercial Lockbox^Check
Images^^^^^^E:\inserver6\lockbox_corresp_import\20100112_011790__0002_00
00016678_CM.tiff^

The issue I'm running into is the "^" symbol....Those are unfortunately
as critical to this process as all the other information but whether I
try a standard key command or try using SendKeys I end up with
issues...Any ideas or experience working with something like this?

Thanks,
