Greetings,

The DataStation will throw an error if the file does not exist.

So 2 choices - do <something> that sees if the file is there first - or
simply capture the error .

 

Capturing the error is pretty simple and can even be done in a Rules
script:

Here's how for a Rules script:

Place the below exactly as I have it here in a Rule's action:

 

On Error Goto errh:

d.open.... 

Step="Step to goto if the file opens successfully"

Exit sub

Errh:

Step="Step to goto if the file does not open successfully"

Exit sub

Not something that I've dealt with previously so not sure the best
practice...How do the experts here handle when the your script attempts
to open a file for the DataStation that is not present? 

 

Normally not something that comes up but I have a project where the
possibility is much more pronounced so thought now would be a good time
to pose the question here...
