I've several scripts that utilize spreadsheets as the data source as
part of a two part script (1. create the spreadsheet, 2. do something
with the data). If the scripts stop midway, I don't want to create the
spreadsheet, or if the spreadsheet has a datestamp (field in the
spreadsheet) that is the current date, I don't want to create a new
spreadsheet, otherwise, I create a new spreadsheet.

There are times (manual rerun, someone mis-deleting, etc) where the
source spreadsheet might be missing from the specified path. I've an
internal function that checks for the source, and if one is not present,
creates an empty one so the script does not bomb.

you can use normal visual basic filesystemobject commands to do this
(google it if you don't know).

HTH.

Subject: [talkbws] No file found...

Not something that I've dealt with previously so not sure the best
practice...How do the experts here handle when the your script attempts
to open a file for the DataStation that is not present?

Normally not something that comes up but I have a project where the
possibility is much more pronounced so thought now would be a good time
to pose the question here...

Thanks,
