You can have timeouts set to email for scripts that fail in specific
steps. You can also have your scripts update a completion file which
another process monitors that will send out emails if it's not updated
by a certain time.

Subject: [talkbws] Notification for scripts that fail or do not run

Does anyone have any information they would like to share about how they
are handling notification for scripts that fail or do not run? I am
using email notification when scripts have completed, but the only way
to be aware of failed scripts is if someone realizes that they did not
receive an email notification that the script did run.

TIA
