Epic can use any term emulator to navigate the roll and scroll Cache (MUMPS) screens. Basically anything you'd use for a UNIX box (Reflection, PuTTY, ect.).
Hyperspace was (I last worked on an install in 2009) a windows front end which utilized a mix of VB6 and HTML. Not everything that is available in Hyperspace is available at the terminal emulator level and visa/versa. System management stuff is more well supported on the "dark side", so bulk data loads, dictionary updates and the like will get handled through the emulator. ~Peter On Tue, Aug 30, 2011 at 1:29 PM, <[email protected]> wrote: > Ryan, **** > > From what I’ve heard speaking with some folks about Epic it can be both a > terminal emulation and windows.**** > > The terminal emulation can be used for bulk data entry for dictionary/table > updates etc. You can use an off the shelf emulator, it’s not proprietary.* > *** > > The end user screens are windows based. **** > > ** ** > > But I’d defer to someone who actually owns the system J**** > > ** ** > > Regards,**** > > Thom**** > > ** ** > > Thom C.
