I have run into a problem syncing my IE 11 favorites using iCloud for Windows and while Window eyes might not be the cause of the problem, it is complicating the issue.
What has happened is that once I set things up, changes and new favorites added are not showing up innSafari. New bookmarks in Safari are being added to my IE favorites, but the reverse isn’t holding true. IIf anyone has successfully fixed this issue on their own setup, I would love to hear how, but now onto where Window Eyes is proving to be a problem. If I start up the iCloud control panel, a second application also shows up with the title of IE DAV or DEV, not sure which, and has the options sync or close. I cannot tab to either control and clicking on either using the mouse controls does nothing. After anywhere from a few seconds to a minute, I get an error message that the program has stopped working correctly and must be closed. Clicking on the Close this program button works after a minute to a couple of minutes and then I am left with the iCloud control panel. After the IE DEV application is closed any changes in settings on the bookmark options doesn’t do anything unless I turn on bookmark syncing in Firefox which I don’t care to do. The reason I believe that this is caused by Window eyes and not just some iCloud flaw is that it only happens when Window eyes is up and running. If I start up iCloud with System Access running, the IE DEV application does not appear and the iCloud control panel at least will try to clear and merge my IE favorites again, it also works with no problem for sighted users with no screen reader active. Only when Window eyes is running does this IE DEV application appear and crash. I am not very adept with System Access and prefer Window eyes, so whatever the issue is causing the favorites to not sync changes and additions or deletions is a problem I am not likely to be able to fix unless I can get this crash to stop happening with Window eyes. It wouldn’t be so bad if I had made some changes to my favorites before the initial setup of iCloud, I have a ton of favorites and didn’t think to sort them into subfolders before the first sync. I have some subfolders set up from the initial setup, but they ended up at the end of a huge list of individual favorites I have to get past. I reorganized so that all but the most important favorites are in subfolders, a much better setup for navigating them on a portable device, I just have to get the syncing going right. Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated. If there isn’t a way to keep the IE DEV crash from happening with Window eyes, I hope that this might be something fixable in a future update to Window eyes.
