I have the caps beeper working. It is too loud and giving me a headache after only a few minutes of beeping. It is better than your other option of saying the word cap and not reading the following letter without a significant lag. I did not see a way to turn down the volume of the beep, is there one? None of this carp would be necessary if WindowEyes just handled capitalization pitch settings properly as other screen readers do. So how do I turn down the beep compared to the we speech? If I can turn it down a bunch it might be acceptible all be it a work-around rather than fixing the problem correctly. Hi Rick, It is not possible to change the level of pitch for capital letters. We offer the 60 day evaluation version so people can have access to everything Window-eyes has to offer, including the premium synthesizers. If the pitch change isn't enough, perhaps installing the third party cap beeper app. https://www.gwmicro.com/App_Central/Apps/Download/?scriptid=1216 This makes a beep when you move across a capital letter. You can even use a different sound if you don't like the beep the author included. I havent found it in WindowEyes Settings yet though. Some speech operations are still slightly sluggish even with Eloquence which I have to attribute to WindowEyes itself from past experience. That said I am asking about how to improve the speech settings including the pitch change for capitalization - I am pretty sure that is doable but not sure WindowEyes has a setting to do it, we will see. I just dropped 40 bucks to get Eloquence so I hope WindowEyes takes advantage of its feature set. The slight lag times are annoying but not so bad that I will dump WindowEyes all be it I am disapointed so far with WindowEyes performance with a hot synth like Eloquence. But, as mentioned, I will ask on list how to tweak settings to see if I can get things working well enough to not be a constant hassle using WindowEyes. Wish I could have given WindowEyes and Eloquence a glowing congratulations out of the box but it is what it is.
