Hi

Oh, There are plenty out there. Tapin Radio, available at
http://www.tapinradio.com is free, with the ability to pay 12 bucks in US dollars to have the ability to record any streams you might be listening to. Very accessible! If it wasn't, I wouldn't be using it of course.

Barring that, there's always Winamp, the first program I ever used to listen to music and internet radio I ever used. It's not seeing a whole lot of development these days, but it's still widely used, and there are Window-eyes scripts that make it work very well. As I'm not a JAWS user these days i have no idea of the level of access given, but I do remember back in the day that scripts were included with the product, so there's a good chance it can be used But since this is being posted to the Window-eyes discussion list, i'm going to give the scripts for Window-eyes a big recommendation. They're very good indeed. You can also use other programs like Windows media player to listen to internet radio but I don't have much experience with those. My big 2 are Tapin Radio and Winamp. Winamp can still be downloaded from many sites, just do a google search for download Winamp and I'm sure you'll find it.

Hope this helps!

Hi list subscribers

I'm using NVDA and jaws to access my computer.

I am totally Blind and love listening to internet radio stations.

Many of the radios I listen to use flash player to play.

As you might know, flash player is not that accessible with screen reader.

For instance, I cannot get to the buttons to control the volume, mute the
radio or play and/or pause it as I so wish.

Moreover, many of these radios seem to be getting rid of players like winamp
/ vlc which I used before to play them in favour of the flash player.

Do you know of any web-based service that is accessible to play this type of
content?

Or any desktop application that can play internet radio with such formats as
.m3u, .asx, .pls or even flash content and the screen reader like nvda or
jaws can work with?

Your help is, in advance, appreciable.

Regards
Marisane

Hi Bob, how are things by you, and where are you at these days. I have been
battling cancer, along with a bunch of side issues, but am still above the
grass.
