Barbara, is this a toggle where it can be toggled on or off? Thanks for the info. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barbara Sheinbein via Talk" <[email protected]> To: "'Bill Belew'" <[email protected]>; "'Window-Eyes Discussion List'" <[email protected]>

I just received a laptop from the same company and I was advised it is FN
with the escape key to swich the function keys. I do not wish to use it now
since I had so much else to deal with. Smile.

I recently configured a Lenovo laptop, and I found that there is a keystroke to change those function keys back to the normal function. I don't have it
here any longer, but I think the keystroke was FN plus escape.

In researching that problem I learned that some earlier models required a
bios change to switch back to regular function keys.

I bought a Lenovo laptop with the extended keyboardd and found out some of
the functions F1 through f12 do stuff one would not be aware of untill it's
to late. For instance, f2 and 3 rise and lower sound volume. F6 turns off
the touch screen. Does anyone know if there is a by-pass key so normal
windows functions can be performed? Don't get this confused withthe the
by-pass key for wineyes functions.
