Hello,

After experiencing what it is like to be part of a Down Sizing, at my last Job, I found myself in a Financial Free Fall, where I quickly discovered how to live on Half of what my family had grown accustomed.

With Money being very Tight,
I found myself needing to shop at Thrift stores etc. But, the good news is they do often have someone's used Computer equipment, and in the way of Keyboards, you can pick up a Keyboard for $2 to $5.

If the Store you shop doesn't have a keyboard you like, go to another store, or go back in a couple of weeks, as the Stock changes fairly rapidly.

I brought home three Keyboards from such a Store, and my Wife took one look at them and told me they looked like Crap because they were Filthy. Accumulated grime, grit, and substances unknown, and should be kept that way.

So, figuring I had nothing to lose, I took each keyboard and dunked it into a Sink full of Hot Water. added some Dish soap and took a Brush to those Keyboards.

Held them under water, and scrubbed and scrubbed. All through the keys and up and down and all around.

Drained the sink, then ran it full of clean hot water, and again dunked them under, this time to rinse them very good.

Put them in the dish rack so that any water left inside would drain down to one corner, and left them there for about a full Week to dry completely.

Plugged them in to a computer, and they all worked just like I had bought them brand new. And my wife told me they were clean and had no trace of the gunk that had been on them.

i even picked up one of those old Microsoft keyboards that cost over $150. cleaned it up after paying about $5 for it, plugged it in and it too works. Although, I don't like it. Way way too many keys on this Monster. Lots of Buttons to program, and Dials to turn and Keys to press for one thing or another.

Glad I only had $5 into it. If I would have paid $150, when these things were new, only to find, I didn't like it, well, risking $5, is way better than risking $150.

All of these keyboards have the USB Connection, and they all work with no Key failures. In fact, I'm typing on one of these Thrift store Keyboards right now. It is a Dell Keyboard of some kind, and it has all the keys I need.

Good Hunting if you look in these kinds of stores.
