Hi Martha,

Is it possible, after you enter your ipconfig command and press enter, are you
then pressing the up arrow in an attempt to read the output? This causes the
previously executed command to be redisplayed on the command line, then it
becomes quite difficult to enter the needed "exit" command.

You can either try to clear everything off the current line with backspace and
delete keys before entering exit and enter, or you can press ctrl-c (which
stops the current dos program from running if there is one, and which clears
the current command line), and then you can type exit and enter.

If you use more along with ipconfig, but there is not a full screen of info (as
I think Tom mentioned), then you are left on the command line, and when you
think you are pressing up arrow to see the more contents, you again are
bringing up the previous command on the line.

Subject: Windows 7 and ipconfig command

I sometimes have to run cmd and ipconfig commands to get the IP address so
that tech support at work can remote in.

The problem is that I cannot seem to get that screen to go away. Escape,
alt+F4, and typeing exit does not work.

What's the secret???

Using WE 8.4 on work machine.
Martha
