I have read messages from bookshare staff on the bookshare list which
says failed downloads sometimes happen when you are attempting to
download an mp3 file. Is that the type of file you are downloading?
By the way, they say failed downloads do not count toward your
download monthly quota. Hope this helps.

Most of the time, I can press the download button, and IE will make
the ringing sound, present me with the option to save normally, but
once in a while, the file doesn't actually download to my machine,

the download directory, plus doing a drive wide search, but the file
