When my brother in law was stationed in Germany, I used Skype with video and talked to my sister on just about every day. The audio quality was very good and rarely was there any video issues. I'm kind of a if it works don't fix it kind of guy so I would be more inclined to stick with Skype until somebody could convince me otherwise.
