Make sure that nothing is selected on your desktop and press your
application key.  Arrow down to "sort by" and make sure "name" is checked.
Then you can use the f5 key to resort your icons.

Hi good people,

I like icons with recycle-bin near the top, and the rest as much as possible
in
alphabet order.

For some reason, ahnd there will be a reason, the re-cycle-bin is number 28
of
28 and computer is about 12.

Having checked the desktop settings against a system which is in the order
that
I want, I can observe that the settings on both machines as regards the
desktop
are identical.

So here's the kicker.  How do I get my desktop icons back in the order that
I
want, when it appears that all settings are correct?
