Hello Kevin, It does work in Firefox or Chrome. You need to move with your arrow keys in Browse mode, then route the mouse with insert-numpad-plus. Don't try to move the mouse with the number pad as all you'll get is a bunch of dings. After the mouse moves you can use your arrow keys to explore items that moving the mouse pointer reveals.
I do this all of the time on phone.com to access configuration options.
