F you are in the inbox list of messages and you want to accept an invitation, you can hit the application key and chose accept. I do this is if I already know the meeting details. If I want to review the meeting time, place and so on before accepting, I open it and, as noted by another, use the accept button on the ribbon. Note that when you hit the accept button, a short list appears to give you the option to reply with comments or not.
