Just so I understand this completely, I know when you upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10, Window-Eyes 9.2 must be reinstalled. To do this, you would probably need to use Narrator to find your WE 9.2 installation file. I assume It would be where it was when you were in Windows 7. . Alternatively, does Window-Eyes work well enough so you could get the update from the Window-Eyes Control Panel and turn Narrator off before you update this way?..

Pam,

That is correct. If you have Window-Eyes 9.2 installed prior to running the Windows 10 upgrade, then Window-Eyes will be available once the upgrade completes. If you are updating from Windows 7 you will need to re-apply the 9.2 upgrade after Windows 10 is installed so that the correct video driver is copied over. If using Windows 8 or newer then there isn't anything else you need to do.

I hope this helps.
Steve

I think they said they are rolling it out little by little. Now, I'd like to clarify something. Several days ago, people at AI squared said you can start the upgrade to windows ten with window eyes running. Then, there will be two things that won't speak, then window eyes will speak again. This doesn't sound like you have to uninstall window eyes at all. So please, straighten us out on this. Pam.

So, how do you go about starting the update? I haven't got an e-mail stating it's ready for me to install, and yes, I did reserve a copy back in the days.

The icon says I'll be notified, in the system tray, but I see links like get started, let's go, reboot now, continue, etc.

Is it just that they are rolling it out little by little, or by now, should I have access to it?

If so, then someone needs to give me the exact steps to start it installing.
I know the whole thing about removing W E first, etc. That's no issue. I have NVDA as a backup, as well as jaws, so it's not the end of the world for me. Plus, there's always Narrator, so I'm not in a pickle.

I'm quite savvy with my technology, so if you can just give me the steps, I know beyond a doubt I can figure it out.

Chris.
