Hi Again,
The Block search feature for Breaking News is ready. The upload will be
by the end of the day, but review takes a day, so probably you will not see
it until Tuesday.
The new feature of Breaking News is the ability to set each web page on
the Main Tree view settings list with a search phrase and the number of
lines after finding that phrase and it all gets read.
Also, you can block off a section of a page by copying an end phrase and
inserting it as the End Block Search Phrase inside the Tree View Item list
and checking the Block Search checkbox.
Now, if you do not find the first search phrase, or do not check the
Block Search check box, it will use the End Block phrase as a second search
item, just in case you do not find the first search phrase.
In other words you will have 3 different items to search for when
downloading a page to read. Where the third item is a heading 1 tag marker.
Also, I have checked for errors and eliminated some errors which pop-up
when any of your dialogs are not displayed any more, so there should be less
errors cropping up in this version if you escape from a dialog or it
disappears.
Remember, this Breaking News does save files by using the Control-S key
combination and you can do a path search where to save the file as well.
Today I will be working on a menu for the text read of the web page to
give more options than hotkeys.
So tonight it will be uploaded for review.

Subject: Breaking News App
Hi Everyone,
By the end of this weekend I will have an update for my Breaking News
App. It will be version 3.1 when ready for upload.
I have fixed the HTML off-line page and inserted the full link path that
web pages use only as a reference. It works as far as I can tell now, but
have not tested it on all web sites. So the link on the HTML page will in
fact work and not say "Page Not Found."
The HTML page almost duplicates the reading of a web page but does strip
out some stuff, such as all Java Script and such to speed up the loading and
reading. It does preserve the text on the page.
The second addition will be the search phrase, at the moment it reads
only the line on and will add the next line for all. The font size heading
search, like H1 to H5 the next line is read since I have placed the text
version of the tag on a line of it's own.
In addition I will also allow you to add how many lines you want to read
after the search phrase line, for that will be needed for a block read, I
will also add it as a manual input to allow you based on the page you have
saved can be independent of any other web page; since all searches are
unique.
I will also add the menu for the editbox since I have no menu, thus not
allowing you to make selections, such as reading an off-line HTML version of
the file. At the moment all options are hotkeys only when reading a text
version of a web page.
I hope to achieve the ability to do almost everything that is on a web
page that is possible, including running programs. But at the moment I am
doing this when I am not outside rebuilding my house; yes, I am totally
sightless in case someone asks.
I do have an update on the Sea Battle game with some more added sounds,
including a missile launch, but that to has not been uploaded yet and it
will
be version 1.1 for the Sea Battle game when uploaded.
I am taking a break and will spend more time on the computer.
Sincerely
Bruce Babcock
