Hi Pam,
Try this:
While in Windows Explorer,
Press alt-v for view menu
then press o for sort order
up arrow to more
type s for size.
If it is not checked, check size.
Tab to OK and press enter.
Now, when you want to see size, simply right arrow tothe box which shows
each of the selected items,
like name, size, bit rate, date modified.
Remember, if you check something that does not report a particular item,
it will just say
read only, - item.
Folders do not show size.

Okay, the place where I said there were a list of things to choose
from is where it said choose details. That's below the checkbox for
details. But anyway, I figured that out, but I still can't figure out
how to get it to show me the file type and size. I had this somehow
get turned off when my computer was worked on. Pam.

You should hear size if you have details checked under view.

At one time, I thought I could hear the size, or at least an
approximate size, of a folder spoken. Now, I get no size information
even wqhen Size is checked under the View menu. Have I remembered
wrong or just forgotten something? I do hear file sizes. I checked
Folder Ooptions in Control Panel and didn’t see anything that would
directly relate to this.
