Greggory, Thanks for your suggestion.
I went to the Adobe site for updating the player, and downloaded an
Windows 8.1 KB file for 64 bit machines, and it turns out that I
apparently am already running the latest update. The name of the file
is as follows "Windows8.1-KB3079777-x64.msu.
Is this in deed the one I need? If you have any further suggestions,
please let me know.
BTW, the URL was

Are you running the latest version of Adobe flash. This is an error
caused by either the web developer / programmer in many cases, but if
you are running an older flash you could be experiencing a bug in the
flash scripting engine.
