I had the lock up problem on my windows 7 64 Dell laptop too. In trying to fix the problem, I opened the Window Eyes control panel and opened the factory settings under the file menu, when I read down through the list it said all sets were up to date but, I tabbed to the install button for each program I use and pressed enter, when ask if I wanted to replace the set I pressed YES. I haven't had a lockup since. I don't know if it will work for everybody but, it worked for me
