Sure, you might have to use workarounds and advanced techniques to be
successful on poorly designed web pages. But, I still stand behind the fact
that the screen redraw does nothing when on the web using Window-Eyes 9.0 or
higher. That was the key point I was trying to make.

this is not always true.
it depends on the programmer. i have gone to many web pages that open a text
box or what ever you call it and w e 9.2 will not read it until i turn browse
mode off and back on. then i can read what is on the screen.
with some web pages like question and answer sites i can click on the question
because it is a link. the page will scrole to the bottom of the page where the
answer is suppose to be. w e will not read it and if i try to arrow down the
text you are put back on the top of the page again.
i have some site so i can tell when something changes on the screen.

The redraw screen hot key (Insert-Backslash) is no longer needed on the web if
you are using Window-Eyes 9.0 or newer. This feature on the web only worked in
older versions of Window-Eyes that use a static browse mode buffer. Since
Window-Eyes now interacts with the web page in real time and doesn't use a
static buffer, the dynamic content will be available as soon as it is added to
the page.

I have experienced this at times. You can try hitting INSERT-BACKSLASH. This is
the command to redraw the screen. I am referring to the INSERT key on the
numpad.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] WE not announcing changes to web page

Hello,

I am using WE 9.2 with Windows 7. There is a web site I must use for work in
which WE does not announce changes to the page when I activate its controls.
For example, when I press benterb on a bclickableb, WE does
not indicate that anything has changed. The only way I knew that it had was
that a sighted person told me that it had. Otherwise, I would have thought the
control wasnbt working. What settings do I have to change in WE to get it
to announce these changes?

Thank you,

Jan
