Hi Tom,

People are saying now that ever since Windows 8.1 the power button is as
safe as choosing shutdown from the power menu.
Do you agree?

If they didn't changed things in Windows 8 or 10 you can Windows-D to 
the desktop and then Alt-F4 to open the shutdown dialog. By default 
you'll be on shutdown and only have to hit enter. If you want to reboot 
(restart) hit R followed by enter.
