Hi Chris, Now, there's an idea for an app! If you're running WE version 8.4 or earlier, the Control-Alt-W hot key shuts WE down first and then reloads it. This assumes, of course, that WE is still able to run properly and apps can run as well.

In my experience, though, if you don't hear the descending harp sound, the Ctrl-Alt-W wont work, either. Fortunately, the pressing of the powerbutton briefly always does work, even to briefly restoring speech before it insists on shutting the computer down. Wish there were some way to halt the powerbutton shut-down at that point.
