Thanks Chris: OK, good enough.
Not a speech problem but a Microsoft performance issue and, If I remember,
addressed in Windows 10.
Now that is something concrete to hang our hats on.
Congrats to the AI team who figured that puppy out!
Thanks again for the answer.

Hi Rick,

It was the file explorer sluggishness issue in Windows 10.
It wasn't a Window-eyes issue, it was a Microsoft issue. Microsoft has
addressed the file explorer issue in the later insider preview builds and
the overall responsiveness was vastly improved.
Once it goes to the general public the sluggishness in file explorer will go
away.

The user was told of the situation and can comment if they wish.

Subject: What Was Result Of Mailed In Laptop Test

Hi: One person having problems mailed in his, her, laptop to AI Squared for
analysis and a fix.
What were the problems being encounterd and the results of the analysis and
the fix if any?
This was a big hassle for the person involved and warrents a response me
thinks.
We all cant pack up our systems and send them in so this sample case might
help a few others out here if quantified as to the problem, fix or, if no
fix, what the detailed test results indicated.
Not hearing anything lets the mind wander in dark places.
That said, WE 9.2 is working somewhat decently after having played with
settings, switching slowly and allowing WE to load whatever it needs to
before doing any navigation within the newly focused application.
I still get the occasional speech loss, very few lockups lately, and still
have problems after a computer sleep session but things were so bad a few
months ago I almost had to drop WE as a screen reader of choice - now not so
much but it needs to be more solid.
In any case, what were the results from the test of the laptop problems and
what were the problems to begin with?
Is it something that could help others like settings?
