I had similar issues. I'm not exactly sure why, but every other email
program I tried worked ok, but Eudora constantly gave me error messages
when it tried to connect to the server and retrieve mail. Unfortunately
the program is long out of date and isn't being developed anymore. I'm
using Thunderbird at the moment, and while it's not exactly the same as
Eudora, it's certainly a good alternative if you can't get Eudora to do
its thing.
