The two Dell laptops I mentioned in the last message both have numeric
keypads on them. I travel two or three times a year, so for that often, it's
not a huge deal to pack one, even though they're a little wider than the
laptops with the cramped keyboards that you gotta do all kinds of alternate
key combos to do stuff on. I just slip it into my backpack, which has
padding in it, so I don't need to buy an expensive laptop case, which
advertises to everyone that I'm carrying around something very tempting to
steal.

Unless you want to keep logging your laptop around the globe like I do, I'll
just buy a 15.6-inch machine which comes with standard keyboard set and no
need to have to invoke the FN key in order to get NumPad ke functions.
As I said, I do log around my 15.6-inch laptop when necessary. I don't care
about 14-inch or less models.
