This might sound like a silly question, Barbara, but did you reboot the computer after enabling the Windows tif feature?

Control, Alt., V, this opens the virtual view dialog 2. choose file as source 3. tab to OCR 4. click OK, an open file dialog appears 5. find your JPG file and then click open and wait a few seconds and it will convert to text.
