Well, I stand corrected. Chris from our support team helped clarify that you can use the about:config screen in Firefox with Window-Eyes if you do two things before activating the I'll be careful I promise button: 1. Disable auto loading of Browse Mode (Insert-A is the default hotkey for toggling this feature on and off) Note: don't forget to turn auto load back on when you are done 2. Manually turn off Browse Mode (Control-Shift-A) I just tested this out and it worked great under Windows 10 and Firefox 43.0.1. We do have this issue logged in our bug tracking system but this work around can be used until it is fixed. Well, that is what I get for making a suggestion without testing it out first. I am also experiencing the Firefox hang when opening the about:config page regardless if Browse Mode is on or off. This happens in the latest Firefox under both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. I have notified our development team, so if the issue is on our end, which seems likely at this point, we can investigate further. I just tried it and, after W-E stopped talking, my sighted wife and I managed to shut down Firefox from Task Manager, and W-E came up, but not working properly - (win+d would not get me the desktop). After closing W-e and restarting it, I'm now back to normal but, without sighted support, the rest is silence! Windows7-64 W-E9.3.1 latest Firefox. Incidentally, at my first attempt, W-E said "browse mode not available", so I couldn't turn it off if I tried. -- Reg <[email protected]> On Wed, 23 Dec 2015 09:24:17 GMT Joe Paton via Talk <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi Mark, > > That doesn't work on this installation sadly. > > Joe > > On Tue, 22 Dec 2015 18:02:16 +0000 > Marc Solomon via Talk <[email protected]> wrote: > > I would suggest turning Browse Mode off before trying to interact with the > about:config page in Firefox. > Regards, > Marc > > Sent with AquaMail for Android > http://www.aqua-mail.com > > > On December 22, 2015 12:40:02 PM Reg Webb via Talk > <[email protected]> wrote: > > > Hi all > > I find that the system crashes when I activate about:config in Firefox > > with the latest W-E running but, if I close W-E, my sighted wife can > > make it work just fine.
