Subject: Re: A wierd thing going on with my desktop all of a sudden
Manny, Please remember that I am still using Windows 8.1, so these
instructions may or may not be valid. However, I did try going to the
startup menu using the windows key, and pressing the E key, but only
managed to bring up the search box. When I tried holding down the
windows key and pressing e, I was taken to "This PC." and then alt-T at
that point did nothing for me. There was absolutely no way to arrow
either up or down.
Is it possible that I am missing a step. If so, please let me know. This
really has me a bit worried. Maybe it's nothing, but hearing these
checks are quite troublesome. I'm sure that some how we'll get to the
bottom of this one way or the other.
Thanks, and please let me know what to do next,
Larry

Well hello listers, and sure hope you can help me with this sudden
annoyance that just cropped up here.
I really don't know just how I could have made this happen, so there
is really no way I can figure out how to undo this thing. For some
reason my desk top icons are reading with checks in front of them. I
was playing around in the view options, and must have pressed
something that I shouldn't have, but again, I really don't know what.
I can deal with this by simply opening up the desktop folder with a
shortcut and working with the folder, but I'd really rather get to
the bottom of this if I possibly can.
Any ideas would really be appreciated.
Oh yes, I am using Windows 8.1 and WE 9.3.
Thanks much,
Larry
