Hi Dave, I'm with you 100 on that. I keep getting the same response "it's
not a WE issue" Everything I've reported from Windows 7 and WLM, Windows 8
and WlM, and now Windows 10 and WLM. I keep getting the same reply. I'm told
it' it is either one of these: a windows focus issue, an issue with my
virus, audio drivers, etc. I know I'm not the only one using a Del pc. My
windows 8 pc is del, and this windows 10 is a Del. I can truthfully say that
not one issue that I've reported in the last 2 years has been resolved. Not
once has GW or AI Squared told me yes we know there are some issues with
some configuration and such and we are working to resolve them. Heck, I've
been reporting the same problem with WLM since 2011 and I'm still reporting
the same issue.. I have been a loyal WE user since 2004 when I made the
switch from Jaws. . In the past 2 or 3 years I've had things that worked
just fine and then I get an upgrade to the next version of WE and it no
longer works, and I'm told it's a windows issue, when I state that it worked
in the previous versin of WE, I get no reply.
I have read documentation, reinstalled WE, got rid of the Del software that
comes with their PC's and done everything that has been suggested. What's a
person to do??

Hello Rick,
No, you are not imagining problems in WE 9.X.
A I Squared seems to be annoyingly silent about solutions or even
recognizing there are those, for what ever reasons, WE 9.X just does not
work reliably.
By now, I would think Tech Support would have loads of notes about the
configuration of systems that are having problems. I would think they
could start noticing patterns and recognize equipment that either needs
to be updated, or switched out for something else.
I believe WE 9 has issues with memory. On my system, if I left the
system stay idle for two three hours, and then start using it, it is a
matter of minutes before I get a lock up, Speech goes quiet, or an
outright Freeze of the system. All requiring a total shut down and
re-start. Rarely does using the short cut key to re-start WE 9, work.
I do not wish to buy JAWS, or even entertain going over to JAWS. I like
WE and have used it for years. I wish A I Squared was a bit more up
front with their customers, but remaining quiet, which gives the
impression they are ignoring problems, seems to be their way of
communicating
with customers. Ignoring problems is not a smart way to run a
business, and if done long enough, the problems do not go away, but the
customers do.
Even if A I Squared would say, Yes, we have a problem on some systems.
We are not sure just why some have issues and others do not, but we are
working on finding a solution. even something like this would at
least keep me from pulling my hair out, thinking that the problem could
be my system, or something in it that is causing issues.
Honesty goes a long way in keeping my loyalty. Silence on the other
hand makes me feel as if I am ignored.
I keep thinking if I had more memeory, that just maybe WE 9 would work a
bit better. Any here with 16 GB of RAM having problems with WE locking
up, or Speech going away?
