Hi Mark:
I'm using an Acer Aspire v3-572p laptop running Windows 10. I tried Fusion under Windows 8 and Windows 10 and the Insert-f4 command wouldn't work. It showed up in Key Describer, and I even changed it from it's default, thinking there might be something amiss with my function key row, but, no difference. I will try it on another laptop, this weekend just to see what might happen. Here is my system info from ZoomText's help dialog. Fusion Hi Joseph, Great feedback on Fusion, thanks. With that said, I am able to shut down Fusion using Insert+F4 with no issue. I wish I could explain why it didn't work for you. Maybe you can send along your system specs so the Fusion QA team can try and duplicate. Fusion Hi Jeremy: First, great job on Fusion. Although I am not a user of low vision products, I just had to check out fusion and see how well the screen-reader part worked. I can't answer which hotkeys didn't work with the other user, but, I can tell you about a couple minor issues which you may be aware of. I don't know if this is appropriate for the "Talk" list, so, will not keep posting about this too much. First, the new Learning Center is fantastic! And, the Tutor mode will be great for newbies who use the screen-reader part also. Also, if a person buys Fusion, and, looses his/her sight (not that we want that to happen), or maybe their eyes get tired, they definitely are benefited by paying for Fusion. Worst case scenario, they get the Magnification product, and, if they need it later, they've already got a great screen-reader and they probably wouldn't need to pay $895 for Window-Eyes. I guess one can look at the pricing in 2 ways. One, if you want ZoomText, but, might need Window-Eyes, you get Window-Eyes for $400 extra. If you want Window-Eyes, but, need magnification for a while, you get the magnification for $100 extra. Reason I say this, is, if you bought ZoomText for $595 then Window-Eyes for $895, that's about $1700. So, if you buy Fusion you're saving about $800 and getting the best of both worlds. Anyway, the 2 issues I most noticed were these: When installing the product, the program sometimes interrupts the setup wizard to check for app updates, then, the user will have to manually enable the wizard again if they want to use it. This behavior doesn't happen all the time, so, it may be hard to track down, but, thought I'd mention it. Also, the hotkey Insert+f4 does not shut down the program as listed (however, I'll have to read the manual to see what it says about that key). I changed to the Window-Eyes default layout just to see if that made any difference, but, it didn't. I wish I could comment on the magnification side of things, but, I am totally blind. I just had to try out Fusion to see what it was like from my point of view. Here's to the introduction of a great product which gives the user the best of both worlds. Thanks for your time!
