Congratulation's I'm glad all went well for you. I did the upgrade from the automatic upgrade prompt on both a Win 10 and Win 7 on 2 different machines and had no speech after the download even after waiting for awhile. But never fear it is done and all is running. This is the first time I have any problems with an install maybe just a fluke.

Why would you need NVDA to install a new version of Window-eyes? It
should talk you through the entire instal process, both while upgrading,
and afterwords when the system reboots and installs all the default
apps. you shouldn't need another screenreader unless your system is set
up differently.

Well I got the upgrade done thanks to NVDA. I did the upgrade when prompted after a shutdown and startup and once the download reached 100 percent and just kept repeating that I pressed enter which was on the uac yes button then was able to bring up NVDA and have speech for the remainder of the upgrade. After the restart all seems to be working well.
