you can get up to 9.2 or 9.1 that's the first thing I would do.

You're going to have a hard time getting WE 5.0 to work with any modern
browser. Chrome will not work for sure since it is only supported with WE
9.1 or later. The web has changed so much since your WE version was
current. Firefox may work some with simple pages but you may become very
frustrated because the screen reader is just too old. Again, Chrome is out
for sure.
