The ReadMe file, that comes with 9.4.0, asserted the loss of focus problem was fixed when coming out of Sleep mode, not quite. Often in Word 2010, returning to an open document doesn't always resume speech output correctly. You need to either Alt Tab bback and forth, enter and leave the We control panel, or restart Window-eyes to resume proper key navigation.
