the defaults right now for the cortana search box is to search your computer
and the enternet every time you type in a search. but you can turn this off,
which i did.
i don't want all the internet garbage here. i'll use the browser for enternet
searches.

They're not going to force anyone to use the Edge browser. All they're
doing is making it the only choice if you search from the Cortana search
box. And why not? Of course they're going to promote the use of their
own products. If it's too much to open whatever browser you want and
whatever search engine you want, which for me is done with one key
stroke, well, maybe it's time to bow out of the computer world. Apple
has probably been doing the same thing for years.

I agree. Gone are the days, when Internet explorer 5.5 was the only
browser out there. Unfortunately, gone are the days it seems when
Internet explorer was stable. But yes, times have changed and we can
either turn with them, or protesting get spun off.
