Pam,
Now days the programs are so complicated that when they are installed, they
send out files all over your computer into various other files, sort of like
tentacles. Thus, when you delete a program, you must use the undelete
command rather than just deleting the program using delete. If you don't do
it properly, the program can leave bits and pieces throughout your various
programs. This could eventually cause you problems.
Best, -Bob Ringwald

Am I right in thinking that if you delete something instead of uninstalling
it, all it does is delete the button for it, and maybe the path, not the
actual program? I think I discovered that a long time ago. Pam.

I hope you got rid of Norton by the un-install method and not just deleting
it?

A reminder of what I am using, Windows 7, Office 2010 with the latest WE.
My husband put Norton on my computer and then I could not get attachments.
Chris suggested I get rid of Norton, which I did and get AVG, which again I
did. However, I still cannot open the attachments in email, but I can save
them. But something is still not right. Any suggestions of what I might
have to do.
Veronica
