This is a mis-conception that many have of Windows-M it is intended to
perform exactly as yu stated below. Windows-D is best to use for navigating
directly to the Desktop.

I have noticed that lately, maybe since an update, that windows-M does
minimize all programs, but does not exactly put me on the desktop
according to window-eyes 9.4, but if I type a few letters of the program
that I want, and then press windows-d, I am already on that program.
Weird! because when I pressed windows-M after my initial installation of
windows ten, I'd go to the desktop but now, no, I have to use windows-D,
because windows-m just minimizes all programs and does something with
the desktop where if I type a couple letters like winamp, for example,
though I can't hear any results directly, if I press windows-d, I am on
winamp. I hope this bit of a run-on message makes sense. :)
