windows d is the correct keys to minimize all windows and take you to the
desktop. windows m does not always do it.
one example is if you have a running program with a pop up dialog showing. if
you use windows m the dialog will not minimize. with windows d everything will
minimize.
the anti virus program eset smart security is one such program.
you can open the main screen. press f5 to open the setup screen. then press
windows m and one screen will not minimize. wineyes and windows focus will be
on the desktop but the eset screen will stay opened. with windows d all windows
and dialogs will minimize and go to the desktop and you can use alt tab to
switch back to the program you have running.

I can get the exact results using windows-M here, and have never had
things work to the contrary, no matter which OS I've used, beginning
with Windows 95.

Weird! because when I pressed windows-M after my initial installation of
windows ten, I'd go to the desktop but now, no, I have to use windows-D,
because windows-m just minimizes all programs and does something with
the desktop where if I type a couple letters like winamp, for example,
though I can't hear any results directly, if I press windows-d, I am on
winamp. I hope this bit of a run-on message makes sense. :)
