I've been using MS outlook for at least since outlook 97. What you are experiencing is just abnormal behaviour. You can just save individual email by hitting f12 or through the ribbon and save it as Unicode .msg. There's only one file and that's the message you save to. No other file or folder on top of it. I just test it with your message using outlook 2013 and 2016. The only problem about it is, you can only use Outlook to open them since it's a mime message.
I believe if you use word as the editor, you can even save to more other format but that's not by default. I will just keep it simple. -------------------- regards Thomas N. I liked Outlook Express with Windows XP so much better! I'm currently using Windows 10. I often want to save messages to my Documents folder. In O E, this was no problem. But when I save them in Outlook, some really annoying things happen. 1) When I open the message in Documents, it rarely reads correctly, and when it does, it's usually because Outlook has placed another file in Documents, with the same message name. If I delete that file, the message doesn't read. 2) When I open the message in Documents, the same message reappears in the Outlook message list. This is even true of old messages which I had deleted from Outlook I've tried copying and pasting into a Word document, which works ok, but many times there is a link I'm wanting to save, and the copy and paste does not preserve the link. Is there a solution for this problem? Is there another email program that works in Windows 10, that looks and feels more like Outlook Express? Thanks.
