Windows XP Home allowed you to not set a password and go right to the desktop. If you wanted to do this in XP Pro, then, if you installed the Power Tools add-on from Microsoft, there was an Auto Logon option you could choose. In that case, though, you had to have a password, but, using the tool, you just inserted the password into the edit box and it was inserted for you and you got to the desktop every time. I have an old XP Pro box here, and this is what I did. Loved the trip down memory lane. Smile
