Bob,

I haven't seen the problem you describe with web pages. And I rename files in Windows Explorer all the time with no problem. It's just an edit box. So nothing really has to be done.

You might try updating outdated set files from within the Window-Eyes control panel. Although I'm not sure any even load in the Windows 10 Explorer windows. At least on my system Default.set is the active file in the main window as well as the rename window.

Alt-F File.
F factory settings.
Alt-D Update outdated settings.

Hth,
Tom

I'm running W-E 9.4 and Windows 10. Sometimes when I load a complicated

"not a valid key press". If I restart Window-Eyes, things return to
normal.

Also, when I want to change a file name, or in other windows explorer
edit boxes, W-E is silent and I have to switch to either narrator or
NVDA to fill in the edit box.

If NVDA and Narrator can always read these edit boxes, Window-Eyes
should read them too!
