Hi. I don't have those programs, but would be willing to install a trial version of something if it would help us figure this out. I have W-E version 9.5.1, which came out this week, and have it running on a Windows 10 box, in addition to my Windows 7 laptop. I can't update the laptop to Windows 10 yet, because it disables some RadioShack USB-to-serial adapters, including one that drives my braille embosser and another that drives my FT950 transceiver. So I did a few checks tonight to see what I could find out. N1MM Logger Plus works about the way it does under Windows 7. I can enter callsigns and other info and review most of the window with the mouse. I can use ctrl-5 or ctrl-shift-S to read the current line. ctrl-Insert-S will read the status line within the program's active window. N1MM Plus was compiled using the dot net framework, so it, like other Windows programs of the last few years, should be readable with the mouse pointer. The Older N1MM program would not run, complaining about an OCX file not being registered. The PowerBASIC program editor could be read with the mouse, but it didn't run correctly because I haven't tried to register it under Windows 10. The Windows 10 command prompt wouldn't read correctly until I used ctrl-Insert-C to have Window-Eyes recognize its cursor. I thought that Digipan used a SAPI 4 synthesizer, so it might not run at all; I'm not sure about that. SoundForge 10 Audio Studio works OK under Windows 10. But there have been some occasions where the mouse pointer could not read parts of the screen. This occured after I got three descending tones as Window-Eyes was starting up. I think I read that this is an indication that some of the older off-screen-model methods of reading the screen are not working in this Window-Eyes session. In cases like this, I think you can regain mouse reading functionality by restarting Window-Eyes with ctrl-Alt-W.
73 and see you in the contests.

Subject: WE Problems with Windows 10 Upgrade

Greetings,

I upgraded last evening. Now, I can't read anything with the mouse. Since
I use MMTTY, Digipan, WriteLog and DX4Win for my amateur activities, all of
these programs depend on the mouse cursor. In WriteLog, I used to be able
to read the current line using (control, shift S) Now, it won't read at all.
The command (control, shift W) reads the entire screen but I need more info
and don't want to just sit there listening to a bunch of garbage until I
have the frequency readout from my radio. Any assistance appreciated. Bob
Garrett
